Real-World Challenges with Government Data

Ministerial Challenges Open for Competition

Formulated in direct coordination with concerned ministries to build high-impact, actionable AI models.

Ministry of Health Challenge

Smart Diagnostics & Medical Supply Chains

Build AI models to forecast pharmaceutical shortages across public hospitals and clinical decision-support systems for early triage in remote healthcare centers.

  • Predictive analytics for critical medical supply chains
  • Arabic medical report NLP and radiology image screening
  • Optimal allocation of specialized medical staff across regional clinics

Ministry of Water Resources Challenge

Smart Water & Irrigation Remote Sensing

Develop algorithms utilizing satellite imagery and IoT flow sensors to detect pipeline leaks, optimize distribution networks, and manage groundwater sustainability.

  • Automated detection of leakages across major conveyance pipelines
  • Groundwater aquifer depth forecasting and consumption modeling
  • Energy-saving predictive controls for desalination plants

Smart Transport & Traffic Challenge

Mobility & Congestion Management in Tripoli

Harness urban camera streams and video analytics to dynamically modulate traffic signal cycles and expedite emergency response times.

  • Intelligent density-based adaptive traffic signal timing
  • Automatic traffic incident detection and emergency vehicle dispatching
  • City-wide traffic flow simulation to prevent gridlocks
Participant Handbook

Participation Rules & Team Formation

  • Team Size: Teams must comprise 3 to 5 members (developers, data engineers, UI/UX designers).
  • Intellectual Property: IP remains fully owned by participating teams, granting government entities pilot evaluation licenses.
  • Permitted Tools: All open-source AI frameworks, pre-trained weights, libraries, and public APIs.
  • Timeline: Challenge briefing released prior to event, submission of prototypes, followed by live stage demos.
Jury Panel
